In no particular order, my favourite 10 are:
1 Lost Boys 2 Near Dark 3 Bram Stoker's Dracula 4 Fright Night 5 Hammer's dracula films 6 Vampires (aka John Carpenter's Vampires) 7 Salem's lot (original mini-series) 8 Interview with a Vampire 9 Ultraviolet (TV Series)
Ok, technically two of them are series rather then films.
One that didn't make my top 10, mainly becuase it's not a vampire film, but more a how Vlad became a vampire film is:
Dark Prince - The Legend of Dracula

"He has that priesty look about him"
Heh...now that sounds like a Whedonism.
Yeah, he was that psycho preacher in Buffy. Personally, I think he has more of a misbehavin' spaceship captain look about him.
"If your hand touches metal, I swear by my pretty flowered bonnet, I will end you."

No, you've not mentioned that before werewolf.
He's funny as the sherrif in Slivers.

Started working me way through the Hammer 'Dracula' movies. I liked the first one, though I did think it had some problems in common with the Universal version. Lee and Cushing are way cool so it would still make my top ten.
It's possible that we have yet to see the definitive adaptation, but the novel was never as good as "Frankenstein" anyway. So now I've got to go check out Hammer's 'Frankenstein' series I guess ...

Peter Cushing was a great Frankenstein. Could never decide if I liked the ending tho. I won't spoil it but it's a very different take on the story.

The first Dracula with Lee hasn't the same "boomshawawakablamba" the others have, sets are pretty straightforward as is the camerawork.
Still the story is cool and it has my favorite boys chasing each other. Go Chris! Go Chris! P-E-T-E-R, whats does that spell? PETER!!! YAY!!! *jumps up and down*

It's been a long time since i saw the movie but i'm presuming your refering to (Don't highlight next bit if you don't want to know what happens): Him being supposedly guillotined for his crimes?

I don't know how to do the invisible wrtiting thing... it's the reason what you mentioned above happens that surprised me. If you see what I mean!

Ok, so I was referring to, spoilers ahoy! Highlight: The strong implication that Dr Frankenstein never actually created a creature, but was thoroughly insane and commited all the murders himself!

The first Dracula I ever saw was Lugosi. The first one with Lee was "Scars of Dracula". I've seen all Lee's hammer Dracula's (have 'm all on DVD except "The Satanic Rites of...") and he is without a doubt my favorite Dracula. My favorite vampire actually.
