Just seen a trailer for the Dark Knight on YouTube. It's looking good and Heath Ledger looked seriously sinister in it!

The Dark Knight is gonna be fantastic...I can feel it in me bones.
I adore Batman Begins and love all Chris Nolan's films.
And yes - poor old Heath Ledger looks awesome as everyones favourite clown prince of crime.
Hopefully it will be a wonderful final performance from him with the definitive Joker, and a fitting tribute to his talent.
"Why so serious?"

I hear he was in the middle of shooting another movie where he played a clown of some sort, and that the director wants to try and finish it, but keep his parts in.

It was a Terry Gilliam movie but i'm not aware of the actual part he was playing. I have heard that it will be finished using a couple of different actors. I'm really looking forward to the Dark Knight. I was a fan of Tim Buton's Batman movies but i lost the plot slightly after Batman Forever. Batman Begins re-established my faith! I hope they follow a similar thread for the new Wolverine movie

I feel the same. I thought the feeling of the first two batman films were excellent, but after that they moved too far from the feeling of the films to a more techno feel of the city, which I didn't like.
Was great to see Batman Begins going back to those earlier styles. Very much looking forward to the next one.

Not to mention that fact that, in "Batman Forever," both villains were pretty much the Joker with different names.

True, but I blanked the whole of that film out of my mind And please don't mention Bane . . . he was just a huge disapointment.

You know another Batman movie I like? "Batman: Mask of the Phantasm," the first animated one based on the 90's animated series. Also the only animated Batman film to be in theaters. I think it's a lot better than "Batman: Sub-Zero" and "Batman: Mystery of the Batwoman."
I also hold a special place in my heart for "Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker," which probably isn't shared by most other traditional Batman fans.

Oh yes..."Mask of the Phantasm" was very cool. Then again, "Batman: The Animated Series" was just full of awesome.

I actually thoughy Batman Forever was brilliant compared with Batman and Robin! But totally trash compared with the gothic majesty of Burton's Batman. If only he'd continued........

Yup Mask of the Phantasm is a great cartoon. And I enjoyed the return of the joker one too.
I had them and the cartoon series on video somewhere - taped them off TV. Wonder what happened to them?? I think I'll have to do some hunting in my house and see if I can find them.

I don't think i've really watched any of the animated versions. Doesn't Mark Hamill voice the Joker in one of them?
