He's up to 19 now, higher then the Gill man!!
That list looks pretty strange to me. Lector scariest?!!! I don't think so.
I'm guessing most of the people that voted, are young and haven't seen/experience most of those characters and films in context.

I never found Lector scary at all. In fact i found him for irratating than anything else. My work has blocked off IMDB so i'll vote when i get home.

Lon Cheney gets my vote for coolest, but I'm afraid I went even more old school and voted for Nosferatu, as it's 'scariest' and he was one freaky vamp!

I'm torn between Nosferatu and the living dead. Heck, I might even lean towards Pazuzu from the Exorcist, even though I've never seen the movie.

I voted Lon just to get him further up the scale. He's now at 41% but he's back behind Gill Man!. But i never found him particularly scary. Now one scene in Nosferatu actually gave me nightmares when i was younger so he was definately more scary.

I'm not normally a fan of remakes but I love Herzog's Nosferatu, about as much as the original. Kinski is creepy as hell!
