Weird movie. Kind of like a gothic fantasy romance type of deal. The photography was consistently above average, the story was...interesting, but the plot was often poorly executed and sometimes makes very little sense. Good atmosphere, good locations. The performances were mostly serviceable, sometimes cringe worthy. The biggest flaw was the writing, the dialog could be downright retarded. It was definitely unique, which partly made up for some of the other flaws.
The story concerns an evil twin, a ghost, Audrey Thorn's fantastic breasts (see Twin Peaks), Charlie Spalding's even more fantastic breasts and a dude that turns into a "creature" whenever he feels love (probably the sissiest werewolf in film history). It's not really worth seeking out unless you absotively must see every werewolf related film ever made in the history of everything (and whether or not this is a werewolf movie is arguable), or unless you're a big fan of nice breasts. I qualified for both of those, which is why I downloaded the movie in the first place.

I never classed Meridian as a werewolf film. To me it's more of a beauty and the beast film.
Definately a B movie (or should that be DD movie). If it'd had a little polish and shine it may have been a rather interesting little film. As Damned says, nice plot idea, poor writting.

I never classed Meridian as a werewolf film. To me it's more of a beauty and the beast film. I don't know, man. It was beauty and the beast-esque, but who's to say that the beast wasn't a werewolf? Isn't a werewolf classically accepted as being a man who, in some way or another, shape-shifts into a creature? The beast did look like a werewolf to me. I'd say it's borderline, certainly more of a werewolf movie than Cellar Dweller, which, no offense to Mr. Clay, has no right being discussed as a werewolf film, in my opinion. I don't know if they were that big, but they certainly were quality.

I just watched 'Meridian' accidentally (turns out it's called 'Phantoms' in the UK- a terrible title I know, but why the hell is it called 'Meridian'?). Not too bad for Full Moon Features I guess, and it was nice to see Audrey from Twin Peaks again. I can see the confusion over whether or not this is a werewolf movie, especially with that (pretty decent) transformation scene, but I wouldn't count it as one. Just a non-descript 'beast' to me.
