Came across this review today on the AV club, for a comic collection called "The Astounding Wolf-Man" about a lycanthropic superhero. Has anyone read it; any idea if it's a worthwhile buy? www.avclub.com/content/node/87486

Ah, the first trade is out. I've been reading that series since Free Comic Book Day '07, and I love it. It changes drastically by the end of the first seven issues, which is what that trade collects, so if you don't like it at first, you might change your mind by the end. It's about a rich guy who gets turned into a werewolf and meets a vampire who trains him to use his power for good. Unfortunately, during the full moon, he has no control, and some bad stuff happens. He tries to balance his budding super hero career with his day job and his family, but it doesn't really work out. There are other super heroes, other werewolves, and the mysterious and fatherly vampire all involved.
Plus, at the end of issue 8, creator Robert Kirkman noted that there will be a crossover with Invincible, Kirkman's main super hero character, in both the Wolf-Man series and the Invincible series. You won't find that in this collection, but it's something I'm looking forward to.
