A new 5 part series started yesterday.
(for those in the UK it's on every day this week at 10pm on E4)
It's basically starts off about Big Brother, with a group of house mates and the behind the scenes staff. Than they have a slight problem with the dead coming back to life and eating everyone in the outside world, whilst the contestents are blind to it all in the house.
Episode one is the set up, introducing the characters, and runing through the end of the world via zombies, and the contestants finding out what's happened.
The contestants are pretty close to the disfunctional lot they have on this show these days, and it's rather funny and pretty gorey so far. Looking forward to seeing episode 2 tonight.

I'd say don't worry too much and watch it tonight. You've not missed too much story yet.
It ended where the zombies had killed most people outside, with a few survivors hiding here and there. And, one of the surviving crew entering the big brother house trying to tell them that zombies are outside. Obviously they don't believe her, and one of the contestents keeps opening the fire door to tease her, until a zombie comes through and attacks him. They kill the zombie, but one of the contestants is bit in the leg, and thats where it ends.
They've also brought out the DVD of it, which has a release date of the 3rd Nov.

If you miss an episode, you could wait til they show all the episodes back-to-back on Nov 1 on E4.
Really looking forward to it as I'm a big fan of the show's writer, Charlie Brooker. In fact I got to meet him at the Dead Set premiere the other night. An odd experience as I was dressed as a zombie at the time....
For those who didn't know, last sunday was 'World Zombie Day', celebrating both the 4oth anniversary of Night of the Living Dead and raising money for the help the homeless charity St Mungo's. Hundreds of people dressed as zombies invaded the streets of London, scaring tourists and leaving bloody handprints on windows. It was so much fun.

Cool. Perhaps we should try and have a world werewolf day, where they do the same thing but with werewolves, on say the anniversary of AAWIL.
Didn't know they were doing a back to back version as well later on. Thanks for that info.

How does that raise money? Do the zombies steal people's wallets while they pretend to eat them, or do the tourists freak out and throw their money at the zombies in hopes that it will placate them? Because we all know that zombies are in it for the money.

It was mostly publicity for the charity, but there were also various mini events like raffles (with zombie-related prizes) and what not to raise money.
Actually zombies are in it for the braaaaaaaains.

You know, I don't think I've ever seen a zombie eat a brain. They usually eat everything else. I'm talking about in the movies, of course.

The whole 'zombies eating brains' thing came from Return of the Living Dead, one of my all-time favourite movies, and its sequels. If you've not seen it I highly reccomend it, it's hilarious, gory and has an awesome soundtrack.

I agree, Return of the Living Dead is a great zombie comedy film. Plenty of gore and humour.
If you like zombies, than it's a must see film. The sequals I didn't like as much, they seemed to loose some of the humour in them. But the first one is great. One of my favourite films.

As someone who is not a fan of Zombie movies, they've always freaked me out, i have to say i loved Return of the Living Dead and the 1st sequel. I've not seen any of the others.

Each sequal gets worse. No's 4 and 5 don't even have the same basic rules for the zombies (ie you can kill them and they don't way braaaiiiinss!)

Always had a soft spot for RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD 1, but that may have a little to do with Linnea's performance. Didn't bother seeing any past #3. As zombie flicks go, Romero's DIARY OF THE DEAD was pretty good. Not part of the same timeline as LAND, but that's definitely for the best.

Linnea? Which one was that?

Linnea Quigley.... one of the finest scream queens of the 80's! Also starred in Night of the Demons (and several hundred other horror movies).
