No Keywolf i'm just crap at spelling!
I've always prefered his books to the movies. My favourite book is IT but it was just never gonna be good for adaptation really, too long and child sex is never welcome. Have to say though Tim Curry was excellent as Pennywise.

Yeah, IT is one of my favourites too. I got my copy signed by the author when he came over here (a Tesco's in Croydon, of all places). There's a new tv adaptation out soonish but I'm not holding my breath as it's being done for the sci-fi channel.
My overall favourite King book is probably the short story collection Night Shift.

Marcus, is Rose Red an adaptation of Rose Madder? I've seen a bunch of King movies and read most of his stuff, but I'm unfamiliar with Rose Red. Don't know. I'm not that into his actual books. The basic story of Rose Red is this: "A large sprawling, haunted, mansion on the edge of the city, closed for years after a series of deaths and disappearances grew too many to be ignored. Years later a decendent of the family who owns the house, a college professor - who's area of research is the paranormal, and a team of psychics she's gathered return to the house to attempt to contact the ghosts that were once claimed to walk the halls, and discover what happened to all the vanished people." As for spelling it wrong, I don't know what you mean. That's the way the voices inside my computer is telling me to spell it.

I like it. It's a mini-series, so the effects are not fantastic, but are good enough, the characters are interesting, and the plot moves along nicely. The inside of the house itself is great.
Steven King, in an interview said he prefered his books to be made into mini-series, rather then films, as he admits his books tend to run long, and felt a film just wasn't long enough to fit it all in.

That is very true. I can't imagine how you could condense The Stand into a movie! They just can't seem to do his horror novels justice... Yet the Shawshank Redemtion and The Green Mile are excellent adapations. The Green Miles just too bloody upsetting to watch more than once!
