According to BD.com Universal Studios are planning on bring back the Vampire Lestat by re-vamping (no pun intended) the franchise. They are apparently in close talks with Robert Downey Jnr to play Lestat which would suit me just fine as i think he's great. I'm a hugh fan of Anne Rice and of most of her vampire chronicle books (Her sister has written some fiction on Werewolves). I loved the original film even though i was appalled at the casting... I just could not see either Tom Cruise or Brad Pitt in those roles. It turns out this became the only role i've ever liked Tom Cruise in. The follow up Queen of the Damned was complete crap compared with the first but Stuart Townsend did his best with the dire material. No word yet on whether they will start with the Interview with the Vampire or whether they will move straight onto The Vampire Lestat. Either way i look forward to this unfolding with great interest.

hmmm . . .
hmmmmmmmm . . . .
For me I think this will be a wait and see. (having never read the books, I rather enjoyed the two films - though I agree the 2nd wasn't as good as the 1st, mainly due to it deviating so much from the 1st films feel - though I did like the music videos on the 2nd film's dvd).
I've got one of the werewolf books her sister wrote. It's ok, though nothing special for me.

You should read the books. They are much better. The 2nd film might not have been so bad if they hadn't tried to put stuff in from 2 books.
