King Kong (1976) Picked up the new Blu-Ray from Shout! Factory. Still on overtime so technically it was just on for background noise but I did find myself stopping and watching. You can debate actual "quality" all you want but I've always enjoyed it. So much so that I legit never realized it was over two hours long until just recently. I'll be sitting down to actually watch the three hour TV version sometime soon I hope. I guess now I need to see if King Kong Lives (1986) is available anywhere... Not streaming anywhere. The dvd is available to buy at Amazon Canada and Amazon Germany. Do you have a region free dvd player?

Oxygen (2021)
New Netflix thriller I heard good things about so I checked it out.
Mélanie Laurent is a woman who suddenly wakes up trapped in a cryogenic chamber. She doesn't know why she's there or even who she is but, thanks to a moderately helpful computer voice, knows the oxygen is running out and she's only got around an hour to figure things out.
Directed by Alexandre Aja (High Tension, The Hills Have Eyes remake, Piranha 3D, Crawl, among others).
I liked it.

The Owners (2020)
One of those home-invasion psycho-thriller things.
Former Doctor Who guest star Maisie Williams is the girlfriend of one of the invaders, drawn into the middle of things against her will. Former Doctor Who is one of The Owners of the house that is their target.
On Hulu but I got the DVD from Netflix

Army of the Dead (2021)
Zach Snyder's new Netflix zombie movie.
Setup is similar to the Train To Busan sequel - team sent into zombie-infested area to steal stuff.
In this case, the zombie-infested area is Las Vegas, walled off and abandoned after the zombie outbreak. The team is sent in by a casino owner to retrieve a couple hundred million from a vault. Oh, and they've got to do it quickly as the city is about to be nuked to end the zombie threat once and for all.
Honestly...the opening credits are pretty much the best part, promising something akin to Zombieland, but but by the end (which takes over two hours to get to) it's just another Zach Snyder movie and I can't say I'm really a fan.

Looks like a mash up of Resident Evil: Extinction and Steve Niles' Remains. Very Hard Pass!

Musclecar (2017)
Oddball Australian grindhouse/b-movie homage on Amazon Prime.
Jacinta Stapleton is Bambie Steele, an aspiring filmmaker and car buff. When the promised funding for her movie falls thru right after she spends her last dime on a classic Musclecar (a 1968 Dodge Phoenix) she has to resort to drastic measures to keep the car running. Luckily, all she needs is a book called 'Voodoo Mechanics', an ox heart, and a steady supply of human blood...
Pretty much what you'd expect from a description like that, and just a little over an hour long so it doesn't overstay its welcome.
