One of our other threads has degenerated into a discussion about plot holes in the "Star Wars" universe, so in order to make that somehow on-topic I decided to start this one. In case you didn't already know, Rick Baker worked as a makeup effects artist on "Star Wars : A New Hope", a few years before he did American Werewolf. For the Cantina scene in that movie, George Lucas needed as many weird alien-looking things as he could get, which prompted Baker to pull a few random ones off the shelf, including a couple of werewolf type masks. These characters were of course then incorporated into the universe as belonging to particular alien races. I think I've got 3 versions of the films, the originals on VHS, the digital remastered ones on VHS and then the special addition on DVD. hmm too many do you think?
I remember the werewolf dude in the catina, but I must admit I didn't notice him gone during the special addition one.

Bit like me then. I had them taped, then bought on VHS, then the remastered ones bought on VHS in normals and widescreen (don't ask!) and then i've just bought the orginal filsm on DVD. I don't own any of the new films.

I got...I think four versions of the films now. The 'Definitive Collection' laserdisc set. The 'Special Editions' on VHS and DVD and the originals on DVD. Oh...and DVD rips of the DC laserdisc before Lucas finally put them out. Had another copy of them on laserdisc before the DC came out, but when I got that I gave them to a friend.

I have the origional triology on double disc dvd, disc 1 are the most recent versions, disc 2 the theatrical cuts. I didn't get to see the origional version until last year, so I didn't see the two wolfies before, although I did know of them. I used to be an avid collector of the action figures, one of the wolfmen made it into a figure.
What I would really like to see is a "A New Hope" extended edition. Normally I hate that kind of thing, like in the case of "Lord of the Rings" (runningtime...tooo...loooooooong), but I know there is a handfull of scenes cut featuring Peter Cushing.
PS Peter Cushing was origionally going to play Obi Wan Kenobi, and CHristopher Lee was to be Grand Moff Tarkin, the role that went to Cushing

I watched all the extended editions of the Lord of the Rings trilogy back-to-back once. Started in the mid-afternoon and didn't finish til the early morning. If you take a drink every time Ian McKellen gets a twinkle in his eye then you end up pretty out of it by the end.

A little bit of triva about Peter Cushing in the Star Wars film. The boots that were part of his costume were too small for him, so he was unable to wear them for any extended time. Which is why most of the shots of him are from the waist up, as he was wearing a pair of slippers for most of his scenes.

The scene where he's threatening Princess Leia would have been much less sinister if we could have seen him in his slippers. What do you think he wore? Pink fluffy ones with no backs or daft novelty ones!

Hehehehe, Grand Moff Tarkin wore slippers! No wonder his troops didn't take him seriously!

I thnk he'd either have had giant fury werewolf feet slippers, or those criss-cross coloured ones that are almost like tartens.
