I'm the other way round to you Dryst. I've been watching the UK version, and am hoping to get a chance to get the US series at some point. Purely so I have a full set. Though technically they'd need to release the original trailer for it to be a full set. Stupid dvd release people should have put it on the 1st season box set. grrrrrr.

Yeah, not seen the American version- I guess it's pretty unlikely they'd show it on TV over here. I'm not too fussed since from the sound of it they went with all CGI for the FX, which puts me right off (can anyone confirm or deny this?).
Luckily I taped the pilot so I can watch it whenever, but I agree Marcus, it should definately be on the first series DVD, no idea why it isn't. The one-off 'Becoming Human' should have been included too.

Yeah, I don't feel they handle the transformations/design well in the American version with all the CGI, but then again, I really don't fully watch it for that specifically. Speaking for what they've presented us in the US version, it's a solid series revolving around the relationship of the three main characters, and in the end I have few complaints. I look forward to seeing how they handled the UK version, particularly since it's a year or two ahead of where we are.
That said, I heard the two series deviate enough for both of them to be worth seeing individually. I've been avoiding spoilers, so I don't know exactly how they differ, but I'm anxious to give your version a try soon. The shame of it is, I didn't find out until after the fact, but my cable provider ran the UK version "on demand" while SyFy was introducing the US version during its first season. So while it wasn't airing in a television slot, it was still available for a limited time. I hate that I missed out on that.

This series of Being Human will be the last, and then for some reason BBC 3 are cancelling probably their highest rated show ever.
Sad as I am to see it go, this series has been a bit of a step down in my opinion. Nothing wrong with the new cast at all, but I'm finding the 'vs the devil' plotline pretty cheesy, and some of the scenes are a bit cringy- Captain Hatch's 'I'm so evil' speech, those two geeky guys discussing a roleplaying game.....
Of course I'll still stick with it to the end, hope they get a good send off. How's everyone else finding series 5 so far?

I agree, the series does seem to be struggling, the edge of the early seasons seems to have gone. Not keen on the devil idea either, but that actor playing him has had some nice speaches.

So that's it, Being Human is over. [Oblique SPOILER: Pretty appropriate way to end a show called Being Human I suppose!]
Can't be too upset as I remember when it was a one-off pilot that didn't get taken up, so to end up with 5 series is not bad going! At least to ease the pain BBC 3 have given us zombie drama In the Flesh in it's place, which I'm quite liking so far.
Still I'm gonna miss it, BH (as nobody calls it) was my favourite programme on TV for a while there. I suppose if I get really desperate I could track down the American version...

The American version is worth tracking down. It's different enough to the UK version to make it worth watching. As the show goes on you can see more and more difference in the storylines and individual episodes.
I've also been enjoying 'In the Flesh' too. Reminds me a lot of the 1st series of being human, in that it's about how a 'cured' zombie (well I say cured, it's more like they need a daily injection of chemicals for their brains to work as they used to, or they'll revert to mindless feeding) and how people react to their re-intergration into society. Centering on a village and Ren, a newly rehabilitated zombie. The village founded a group to fight the zombies during the 'rising' called the HVF (Human Volunteer Fighters) who REALLY don't want the zombies living in their village.

Well, that's unexpected- they're showing the American remake of Being Human here in just over a week! Weirdly it's not on BBC but on 'Watch', which I think is the channel that shows Grimm. 9PM on the 11th this month.
In the Flesh turned out pretty well, though even for the UK 3 episodes is pretty short for a series. At least it wasn't much of a commitment! Hope they make some more.

You bet me to posting about the US version of Being Human starting in the UK. If you've not seen it, would recommend watching it.
I hadn't realised In the Flesh was only 3 episodes, came to watch it yesterday and was a little surprised to find it wasn't on. Hopefully they'll do another series, or maybe they've done what seems to be really popular and split the season up into two parts?
