Looks like the 6 episode series will be airing in 2009 sometime.
Also their looks to be issues about who will play the three leading roles, as apparently some of the original actor(ess)s have conflicting schedules.

I can, depending on how they do it. With such a long gap between the pilot and series 1 it's possible to do a substitution (though not prefered), and people are liable to accept it after a couple of episodes - It's been done before successfully (though off the top of my head I cannot remember which shows)
And I wouldn't put it past them, to look at the possibility, due to the conflicting schedules, as a way to change one or more of the cast to actors(ress) that have a higher degree of "eye candy" or more famous to help draw in a wider audiance.
Now, I do hope that the original cast is able to come back and it all gets sorted out. Though if they do change one or more, it wouldn't stop me watching it.
I really hope they concentrate more on how they cope with trying to live normal lives and the fun and japes and problems that causes, and how THAT conflicts with others of their kind (like the vampire clan), rather then it being the other way round.

There's finally an update on the show, which has begun filming the new set of episodes. Bad news, there has been some changes to the original cast as just about everyone that was in the pilot is out. Good news: the lone actor who is still around from the pilot is George, the werewolf. Here's the link: www.digitalspy.co.uk/tv/a134360/new-being-human-cast-revealed.html

hmm. Let me repeat that. hmmmmm. . .
One of the things the pilot had going for it, was the ordinaryness of the lead characters, Now they've gone for a younger market look by picking two good looking cast members, I'm kinda worried at the direction it's taking, especially with the comment that they wanted to alter the feel of the show.
Don't mind them dropping the "vampire take over" subplot, as the show, for me, was never about that, but about the three odd characters trying to live a normal life.
I have a horrible feeling it'll turn into more a teen.young adult drama like so many others that are out there.

Found another update about the series, this time with a photo of the new cast and an interview with the show's producer giving a bit of a preview of the new episodes which is supposed to begin in late January. Here's the link: www.digitalspy.co.uk/tv/a138452/2009-tv-preview-being-human-the-series.htmlAlso, I've found out that BBC3's set up a mini site on the series, which will have a blog and videos. In fact, the first one is already up, showing a bit of a background behind George, the werewolf. I wish I could say that I've seen this video and love it, but since I live in the States, I can't get access to it. Aaugh!! Anyways, here's the link to the mini site, and if anyone can find a way to post up the video so that we can see it, that'll be great: www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/beinghuman/

The George video is great. Very An Werewolf in London. I seem to recall in the pilot he was bitten while in Mexico. Looks like it's while wandering around in the Scottish highlands now. As for the cast changes I'll reserve judgement until I see them all acting together. I'm just glad it's being made.

Yeah i guess we'll have to wait to see how the cast work together now. I thought the chemistry between the characters last time was really good so i hope it will be replicated with the new cast. Fingers crossed.

Hey looks like things are moving fast with the series. From what I've read online, the show will debut sometime during the week of Jan. 26th, no exact date has been set yet. Also, the website for the show has been updated with photos, background info on the characters, and videos, including the prequel videos and chats with the stars about their roles. Their website is www.bbc.co.uk/beinghuman/ and for us who live in the States, the BBC has also posted the videos on their YouTube channel. After seeing them and reading more about what they have planned, I'm very encouraged about the show now, even with the cast changes.

I've got to type when I'm at work, so I'm keeping my toes crossed instead Thanks for the update info. Wasn't expecting it to until later in the year.

I'm really looking forward to Being Human. Glad that the werewolf has stayed the same. I've noticed the actor floating in a few minor roles this year and he's good. Can't say I'm too sorry about the change of ghost or that they are starting again rather than continuing from the pilot. They had a fair few discontinuity errors and the ghost was pretty much a human by the end of the episode. Fingers crossed that it's going to live up to our mounting expectations.
