Agree about the "Van Helsing" link, and I think most of us are also slowly changing opions. Still, it might be a Tim Burton's "Planet of the Apes" kind of movie, which I think was good but could have used some work.

I don't think the words "wolf man" are associated with Van Helsing at all, considering they were never used in the film. As well, I quite liked the gray werewolf in that film, at least concept-wise (execution-wise it was a bit cartoony, true).
Regardless, I'm quite optimistic for this remake.

That's treu, but a lot of ignorant youths see the "Van Hesling" flick as THE monster movie. These same youngsters are under the impression Paris Hilton achieved something in life.

Wish they wouldn't do that to films. I hate it when they keep delaying them.

Look at it this way, a delay might mean they actually care about the quality of the film upon release.

nah. they delay a film for money reasons. Either to try to make sure there isn't another big film being released at the same time to be in direct competition for all our cash, or they are looking to balance out the cash flow into the studio, so shuffle the release dates of their own films around to gve a more even spread of income.
At least that's why I think they do it. But, I'm a pessimist.

Oh, I'm sorry. ok. Happy face Yeah, they probably delayed it cause they want to go over a few of the weaker parts of the film and improve them. So that when it's released it'll have the same kind of pact that the original Starwars or Matrix, or Shriek had on the viewing public. Their just trying to make a iconic film, that all following films will be measured by. woohoo!!

"You Maniacs! You delayed the release of The Wolfman until 2009! Ah, damn you! God damn you all to hell!" [On my knees shaking my fists at Universal Pictures]

There is also the matter of the impending strike, which is causing some studios to be skittish about ramping up new productions right now. As I understand it, the strike, if it happens, is happening around June of next year, but for whatever reason, films need to be done by March to avoid conflict with it.

Writers, actors, and directors guilds. It has to do with royalties from so-called "new media" sources like online and DVD sales.
