hmm, wonder if it's worth buying the US version to get the cool cover.

Yeah the UK cover art is shit! It is completely to appeal to the Twilight Generation. Complete bullshit. I want the US art cover

I want the US art cover To be honest, I think the UK cover will probably better represent the movie. The trailer makes it look all teenage and Twilight-ey. I think having only a 12 certificate pretty much seals that deal. The script sounds terrible with crappy dialogue like "I don't bite...much." And the cast are as wooden as Sherwood Forest. I just hope the werewolves themselves look cool.

I just looked at that UK cover & now I feel like driving down the local college & beating fuck out of a load of floppy fringed "twighlighters" (With "the ace of spades" blasting as I do it).......... Why have they done this please someone just tell me why..

Hey, folks, long time no post. I just saw the trailer for this movie on Yahoo. My expectations are pretty low, but I'm hoping for some redeeming qualities. It can't be much worse than Red Riding Hood or that annoying Wolf Moon movie.*
It stinks that people with resources don't try to produce more werewolf films and/or shows with more variety. I don't mind the Twilight-style genre being around, but I'd like to have more options.
So, what are the early estimates of where this one will rank on the list of best two worst Howling movies? I still haven't seen two of them, but I can't imagine it being worse than the last one. Or the second one, for that matter.
*These movies aren't very similar, but they're both bad. Wolf Moon is also known as Dark Moon Rising.

I'd say, in the howling series, it'll probaby be around 3rd or 4th. And thats only because of the higher level of effects budget.

The release date has been pushed right back to Feb 13th 2012. Maybe they figured people would be more likely to watch it on Valentine's day than Halloween?
As for where it might rank in the Howling series, it could be 2nd and still be awful! Actually, like Moonreaper, I kind of like The Freaks, but it really is let down by the bad werewolf design.

Freaks was the first of the Howling series i ever saw! Caught it very late night when flicking through the channels. The werewolf is shit but still better than the stupid design of Karen's at the end of the original!

When I watch Howling these days, I tend to turn it off, before that bit, as it does tend to be too silly to look at.

I've seen it. As expected it was poo. A dull teen angst/love story thing. Plus it's almost totally bloodless. The werewolves themselves aren't too bad though. Weird thing, the opening credits say it is based on Gary Brandner's The Howling part 2. Now I've read that book. And nothing in this film was anything like it. Odd.

If there was any doubt this film isn't going to be good, I just go notification from Amazon that they've posted it me and the price has dropped all the way down to £5.99!!

ok....i just watched this *beep* spoiler warning
good: the whole werewolf-taking-over idea is good and there weren't many slow moments bad: douche-bag music, annoying male and female cast (why do i want to hear that boy's stupid voice for two hours?), pseudo philosophy, rat-like werewolves
i guess for a werewolf movie it's not extremely bad, but i would never go as far as calling it good or a horror movie, more like a teenage-action movie

For those concerned about the rubbish cover in the UK i've just been to my local asda and it seems to be carrying the US art work. It's basically almost the same cover as the original Howling. Much better than the stupid one we saw on amazon. However i'm still refusing to buy it on the basis that its not a horror Movie.
