Episode 8 has been uploaded! This one takes us through the rest of The Waldemar Daninsky Saga. Some of these are really imaginative and quite clever. I was barely aware of the Daninsky films until I came to this site. Now if only someone would put together a boxed set of restored, undubbed, subtitled versions ...

This is the problem! Someone does really need to get on it. The few releases which are in the original language with English subtitles are almost impossible to find.
"El Retorno del Hombre-Lobo" (1980) is my personal favourite in the series. In a sense, a number of the earlier movies were drafts of the same story which reached its best version with that movie, directed by Naschy himself. The only ones I actively disliked were "Fury of the Wolfman", "Licantropo" and "Tomb of the Werewolf."

Episode 9 is here! Featuring werewolves fighting against bikers, Mexican wrestlers and the President of the United States. Oh 70s, you crazy. I have not seen the biker and wrestler 'crossover' movies. The biker one looks absurd and the wrestler hilarious. 'Washington' is one of my guilty pleasure favorites. I love the Wolfman references and the humor. The bowling scene alone is worth the price of admission. (OK I picked up the DVD in a dollar store so that is not saying much.) The Beast Must Die (or Doggie in a Fur Coat) demonstrates mainly that Peter Cushing can still look good not matter what you put him in. I do not know much about the rest but Boy Who Cried Werewolf looks interesting.

I enjoyed "The Boy Who Cried Werewolf." I don't seem to be alone, since the two other people who submitted reviews to the site gave it four and five moons. It might even be the best werewolf movie of the seventies - though given the overall quality during this period its not saying much!

It might even be the best werewolf movie of the seventies - though given the overall quality during this period its not saying much! I just watched it on YouTube. This is a good one! I have not seen all of the 1970s werewolf movies but this is definitely the best of those I have seen. I will skip doing a review - nothing really to add what has already been said. And it does not detract at all from the movie that whenever I saw the werewolf's face I thought of this.

The only one of these I have seen is Legend of the Werewolf, a decent enough effort even if it is a clone. Judging by the reviews there are some others worth seeing as well. Some anyway... The Howling saga next? Only one worth viewing IMO.

Episode 11 is here, taking us through the movie minefield that is The Howling series. Cross it at your peril! You certainly have done a good job with this - and the entire series too! But I must repeat my earlier sentiment. Of the Howling series, only the first one is worth tracking down if you have not seen it. Or even if you have seen it. The Howling (1981) is a genuine classic in the annals of werewolf movies. The others range from merely passable to really bad, IMO.

You try and play it and it goes fuzzy with a sign coming up that says it contains property of MGM and Starz media who have blocked it on copyright grounds.

It is working OK here in the US as of this moment.

I noticed, it seems to be blocked in pretty much everywhere except the US which is a bit bizarre. I can try to dispute it on the grounds that it is fair use, but then there's a whole process where the copyright holders have to make a decision about it. Alternatively I could try uploading it elsewhere ...
