Notzilla (2020)
Low budget, unknown actors, cheap silly FX, lots of proscenium breaking of very creative types, ridiculous punning names ...
...wait, before we go any further, some samples...
The movie opens on the slopes of Mt Sakitume, the first character's name is Ichihiro Honda, others are Dr. Shirley Yujest, Afro-American scientist Bjorn Bloch...OK I'll stop.
Never give a Flatulizard from the Bodacious Era any alcohol. It grows to enormous size. And therein lies the tail, er, tale.
The movie starts out silly and crazy and continues to grow, just like Notzilla. Several times I asked myself why I was still watching. But each time it was with a bigger grin on my face. The movie is addictive. You want to see what inspired lunacy is coming next. And it never disappoints. Do not take it at all seriously.

The Naked Monster (2005)
Intentionally schlocky homage to the classic monster films of the 50s (and thereabouts) starring Scream Queen Brinke Stevens (with cameos from her frequent co-stars Linnea Quigley and Michelle Bauer) as Dr. Nikki Carlton, and Kenneth Tobey as Col. Patrick Hendry, who began his monster-fighting career as a Captain in 1951 against The Thing From Another World. Many other stars from the classics pop up playing their old characters (or at least 'parodying' the original characters since parodies are generally protected against claims of copyright violation).
Full of bad special effects, worse jokes, and stock footage (and even a couple of gratuitous nude scenes) it was actually kind of fun in a corny, bad-movie way with all the callbacks to the old movies and such.
Also educational, as the end credits point out exactly why movies carry the "any similarity to persons living or dead yadda yadda yadda" disclaimer, something which I admit I didn't know. Or ever actually wonder about. But if you're interested and don't want to watch the movie, look up "Felix Yusupov."
On Amazon Prime.

The Creature Walks Among Us (1956)
Decided I should finish up the Creature trilogy. This one wasn't in 3D but at least that meant I was able to eat while watching it.
A group of scientists catch the Gillman, still down in the Everglades after his escapades in 'Revenge of the Creature.' During the capture, the Creature is seriously burned, damaging his gills. The scientists are able to fix his lungs enough so that he can live on land, but he'll never be able to breathe in the water again.
They take him to San Francisco where he stays relatively docile as long as he's not exposed to violence. Of course, violence ensues and he breaks free.
A definite departure for the series, focusing far more on the human cast and their interactions. The Gillman is truly sympathetic in this one, made more so by the 'humanizing' of his appearance. It is obvious way before the 'rampage' scene that the "Creature" of the title isn't necessarily the Gillman.
