The Night House (2020) Now on HBOMax. Rebecca Hall (possibly best known as the secondary baddie in Iron Man 3 since studio higher-ups reportedly didn't think a female head villain would sell toys) stars as a woman who starts to have strange experiences after her husband's death. Decent enough. Really liked this one, gave me more than I expected.

With it just being passed the anniversary of the Titanic's sinking, I watched...
Titanic 666 (2022)
The passengers and crew of the Titanic III face off against the vengeful spirits of the original ship. And the spirits will probably come after me, too, for watching this. As for this ship being called the *third* Titanic, while I don't think they ever addressed it in this movie (unless it was during one of the periods when I nodded off), this is another from the cinematic geniuses at The Asylum so I guess it's technically a sequel to their Titanic II from 2010.
Yeah, not good but I'll say that the Asylum folks have upped their CGI game a bit.
And I caught poor Neil Dickson (from the She Wolf of London/Love and Curses TV series) in it for like two minutes.
A "Tubi Original"
Choose or Die (2022)
Okay Netflix movie about a cursed 80s-era computer game (called CURS>R). The leads (Iola Evans, Asa Butterfield) are good but it just doesn't quite hang together as it goes on.
Ouija: Origin of Evil (2016)
Sequel to 2014's Ouija (which I think I've seen - not sure) this one has director/co-writer Mike Flanagan starting his association with Henry Thomas before they went on to haunt Hill House, Bly Manor, and Midnight Mass on Netflix. Several other members of Flanagan's repertory company also star.
Fake psychic and her family encounter a very real Ouija board.

The Batman (2022)
This hit HBOMax yesterday so I finally got to watch it, too.
As much as I feel the 'traditional' superheroes need to be more "family-friendly" I have to admit I've always liked the 'Batman as a grimy 70s crime story' type of thing and this is pretty much that. Still not sure it needed to be as long as it was but I didn't mind the length too much.

There's Someone Inside Your House (2021)
Okay Netflix slasher about a masked killer targeting high school seniors who have secrets. Could've used more kills and less teen angst.

Hush (2016)
Another from the Mike Flanagan collection on Netflix. A deaf/mute writer living alone in the woods is attacked by a psycho.
Anacondas: The Hunt for the Blood Orchid (2004)
Since I watched the first one a little bit ago, I figured that meant I'd have to make my way thru the series and when I saw this one is supposed to be leaving Tubi in a few days it seemed like a sign.

Looking forward to his Fall of the House of Usher (and think it'd be pretty cool if he tackled Richard Matheson's Hell House for another 'Haunting of' series).

The Hidden (1987)
Had the Blu-ray for ages. Finally broke the plastic on it. Regular folks get a sudden craving for loud music, fast cars, and violence and it's up to Michael Nouri and Kyle Maclachlan to put a stop to it. Also stars Claudia Christian and for about five seconds, Danny Trejo.
Cursed (2005)
Scream Factory's new Blu-ray of this troubled Wes Craven werewolf movie showed up today so I had to watch it. Unfortunately, they didn't manage to dig up the version that was originally filmed before being almost completely redone.
The Cursed (2021)
Used some RedBox points to pick this up while I was out running around. One of those werewolf movies that felt the need to reinvent their werewolf, but still not too bad.

Uncharted (2022) I'm depressed so I went ahead and bought it on Vudu. I get why they went with "Young Nathan Drake" but I still wish they'd gone ahead and bowed to fandom with a Nathan Fillion-led movie taking advantage of the positive reaction to his fan-film. Still don't like Mark Wahlberg and don't want him in any sort of Six Million Dollar Man reboot. But it was an enjoyable enough romp, with plenty of nods to the games. Tom Holland is engaging as Drake. Oh, and here's the fan-film... youtu.be/v5CZQpqF_74

Island of the Doomed (1967)
Available on Tubi and Shout! Factory TV as part of the original "Elvira's Movie Macabre" under the title "Maneater of Hydra."
I've had bits of the end of this film stuck in my head since kindergarten age when I'd wake up extra early on Saturday to catch the end of the horror movies shown on the 'late, late' show before the cartoons started. Finally decided to give it a go.
Cameron Mitchell (his image if not his actual voice) stars in this Spanish production about a mysterious Baron (Mitchell) welcoming visitors to his remote island to see his unusual collection of carnivorous plants. Badly dubbed wackiness ensues as the tourists begin dropping dead of blood loss.
