Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (2022)
Have some time off so I went on a trek to the neighboring town (since we no longer have a theater where I live) to see this. Wasn't bad, and nice to see Sam Raimi directing something like this again and edging the Marvel Cinematic Universe towards horror. I also got to see it in 3-D which was nice. They didn't have 3-D showings for the last movie I went there to see - Spider-Man: No Way Home.
The Call (2013)
Nice little thriller with Halle Berry as a 911 operator trying to save an abducted Abigail Breslin from a serial killer. Garnered a couple of headlines a few weeks ago when it appeared on Netflix and went to the top of their charts. Berry even Tweeted about it - "….so “The Call” is the No. 1 movie on @netflix right now, nearly 10 years after it’s release. Are y’all OK? 😂"

Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens (2015) Star Wars: Episode VIII - The Last Jedi (2017) Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker (2019)
Finished off my 3-D Blu-ray STAR WARS collection a little while ago so I decided to blow one of my vacation days watching the most recent trilogy. As an old, old-school fan I'm still just kind of depressed by what I feel were a ton of bad decisions for this trilogy, especially since I actually like the characters that were introduced.
Oh, well...
The Lost City (2022)
I took a meal break between Episodes VIII and IX to watch this on Paramount+. Sandra Bullock is a shut-in romance writer who gets kidnapped by Daniel Radcliffe who believes that the real-life archeological details she included in her last novel can lead him to a great treasure. Channing Tatum is the fairly clueless cover model for her books that goes to rescue her. Enjoyable enough little romp. Radcliffe seems to be enjoying himself and I'm hopelessly in love with Sandra Bullock, so...

Friday the 13th Part III (1982)
In 3-D, of course.
Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood (1988)
Still a favorite of the series for me.
Firestarter (2022)
No problems with Ryan Kiera Armstrong as Charlie, but the movie was a bit of a snooze-fest to me.
Treasure of the Four Crowns (1983)
Another 80s 3-D movie that just recently got a Blu-ray. Forgot just how over-the-top annoying some of those movies could get with the "poke your eyes" stuff. Tho it did remind me why I remembered Friday the 13th Part III as being better than many of the other 3-D movies of the era. They were downright restrained. (also made me realize just how much 3-D has been wasted in the modern era of movies, with barely anything actually coming out of the screen for effect anymore)
Popcorn (1991)
Just popped (ahem) up on Shudder. A late-night triple feature showing of classic horror films is stalked by a killer. The three movies-within-the-movie were apparently filmed by Alan Ormsby of 'Children Shouldn't Play With Dead Things' fame. And long-time crush Dee Wallace was in it so that was an unexpected bonus. Good stuff.

Shark Bait (2022)
Yeah, a new shark movie. Had a discount for a Redbox rental and was desperate for something to watch.
After pulling an all-nighter on their last night of spring break, a group of friends decides to "borrow" some jet skis for some early morning fun before heading back to...Kansas, I think it was.
Of course, they go out too far and then crash while playing Chicken and end up...well, like the title says - shark bait.
Wasn't great but wasn't awful, and compared to the shark movies I've seen lately it was a friggin' masterpiece. Bit of gore, decently done shark footage. Should've waited until it came on something I already subscribed to but like I said, desperate.
Top Gun (1986)
Okay, all the great hype about the upcoming sequel (seriously, is Tom Cruise handing out thousand-dollar bills to all reviewers or what?) I decided to revisit the original which I'm pretty sure I haven't seen straight thru since it came out.
Still a decent movie and the footage of real jets and real models is still pretty cool.

Ambulance (2022)
Noticed this was streaming on Peacock and I've already watched the new episodes of Stranger Things and Obi-Wan Kenobi.
Michael Bay goes all Michael Bay with this "heist gone wrong" flick where two bank-robbing brothers hijack an ambulance with a wounded cop onboard. Seriously not for people who easily suffer from motion sickness. I think 99% of the movie was shot with drones. But if you're cool with that, it's a pretty entertaining chase flick even if it is around an hour longer than the Danish film it's based on.

Anaconda 3: Offspring (2008) Anacondas 4: Trail of Blood (2009)
Finished up the Anaconda quadrilogy with the help of Tubi and Amazon Prime. I suppose this means I'll have to watch Lake Placid vs. Anaconda when it hits something I already subscribe to.
Alligator (1980)
Above-average JAWS ripoff from our favorite werewolf movie scriptwriter, John Sayles. Shudder has it and the sequel, which I still need to see.
Interceptor (2022)
New on Netflix with Elsa Pataky as an Army captain who is the only one standing between a group of terrorists and a pack of nuclear missiles aimed at the U.S. Basically, a good, popcorn-y "Die Hard on a floating missile platform in the middle of the Pacific" flick. I was particularly impressed when she took a bullet to her arm and pretty much stopped using the arm for the rest of the movie, instead of shrugging it off like...well, a couple of people in that last Anaconda movie with far worse bullet wounds.

Alligator II: The Mutation (1991)
Fairly lackluster sequel but at least it had Dee Wallace in it.
Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981)
Last weekend I decided to actually sit down and watch this one again, instead of just having it on while I was doing other things. Man, it's a good movie. This weekend it was back in theaters but I didn't feel like making the trip or spending the money.
Jurassic Park (1993)
I've had the 3D Blu-ray for a while now and finally hooked everything up again so I could watch it. Great movie that works better in 3D than most of the actual 3D movies that have been released in the last ten years or however long this current 3D wave has been hanging on.
Alita: Battle Angel (2019)
Another good one, watched this time in 3D.
The Requin (2022)
Another not-very-good shark movie, but it's summer so bring 'em on. Streaming on Hulu now.
Werewolf Island (2020)
Found a four-movie DVD set titled "Werewolf Attack Pack" for five bucks. This movie looks like it cost about that much to make. And I guess if you squint the minimal make-up appliance used could qualify for a super low-budget werewolf, but there's no actual werewolf involved.
The DVD set also included The Snarling (2018), Wolf House (2016), and Cold Ground (2017). Cold Ground is the only one I've seen and it was okay at least. All four movies are on one disc.
Dredd (2012)
Nowhere near as high a budget as Stallone's 'Judge Dredd' from 1995 but a lot closer to the spirit of the comics I think. Karl Urban stays under the helmet as Dredd, Olivia Thirlby as the psychic rookie Judge Anderson, and Lena Headey as head baddie Ma-Ma. Another 3D Blu-ray watch.
The Northman (2022)
Latest from Robert Eggers, the man behind 2015's The VVitch. Alexander Skarsgård as the titular Northman, seeking bloody revenge against the man who killed his father when he was a boy.
Streaming on Peacock.
And new seasons of Evil and The Orville are streaming now, so that's cool.

The Last Shark (1981)
Pretty lackluster JAWS ripoff, livened up a tiny bit by some miniature work to show the shark's size which doesn't really mesh well with the footage of actual sharks used, but oh well...
Streaming various places. I watched it on Tubi. (I think it's going away from there soon, tho. Seems like that's why I picked it.)
Black Site (2022)
I had a free Redbox disc rental so I grabbed this one. Michelle Monaghan plays a CIA analyst at a remote, top-secret location that's just brought in one of the world's most-wanted men. Unfortunately for the personnel at the site, it was all part of his evil plan.
Decent enough action thriller.
Doctor Sleep (2019)
Stephen King sequel to The Shining by way of Netflix's favorite horror director, Mike Flanagan. No real sense of dread or anything like his various "Haunting of" shows or Midnight Mass, but still enjoyable. Haven't read the book so I'm sure that helped, tho I did read The Shining back in the day. Rebecca Ferguson pretty much steals it as Rose the Hat, and the young actress Kyliegh Curran holds her own as Abra Stone, the girl Rose the Hat is after and who needs Ewan McGregor's grown-up Danny to help her in the fight.

Been hitting the 3D films again...
Captain Marvel (2019)
Enjoyed the Ms. Marvel series on Disney+ so I popped this one in again. Forgot this was the first MCU film after Stan Lee passed so the special opening Marvel montage and dedication caught me unawares.
Metalstorm: The Destruction of Jared-Syn (1983)
Part of the 3D wave from the early 80s. Pretty sure I saw it then but didn't remember much. Watched it last weekend and still don't remember much. But Tim Thomerson and Richard Moll made appearances, so that was cool.
Dial M for Murder (1954)
Alfred Hitchcock directed this tale of a former tennis pro (Ray Milland) whose plot to murder his wife (Grace Kelly) does *not* go off without a...ahem...hitch. According to IMDb, the idea to do it in 3D came from the studio.
On the non-3D front -
Everything Everywhere All at Once (2022)
Picked up the Blu-ray since it wasn't playing close enough for me to see in a theater and I've long enjoyed Michelle Yeoh. Wild film that lets her strut all her stuff, not just the butt-kicking that she's most known for (tho there's plenty of that, too). Also stars 'Short-Round' himself, Ke Huy Quan, the great James Hong, and a nearly unrecognizable Jamie Lee Curtis.
Also watched Dexter: Cold Blood thanks to a friend from work loaning me the Blu-ray set and finished off the current seasons of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, Stranger Things, and The Boys.
Working on the current seasons of The Orville and Only Murders in the Building.
Started watching The Terminal List, The Old Man, and the new Resident Evil series.
