mmmkay...if we're going to be all posty pics. Here's a cool werewolf make-up for you! This is a test make-up by the great Jack Pierce for Henry Hull in 'Werewolf of London', the pre-Wolfman Universal classic. It's very much like Chaney's make-up in the later films except it looks a bit more satanic, rugged and the nose is quite different (although that might be the angle of the shot). I love it and it's a great pity it wasn't used, although the final design for 'Werewolf of London' was also fab! It's so delightfully oldschool...animatronics, pfff. Kids these days don't know anything.

Hahahahahahah........Awsome
I watched a feature on my AWIL dvd the other night & it had some extended interviews with Mr Baker & his special effects make up work is mindblowing.......It was his passion as a kid "making monsters" & now its his job..........How cool is that

Yeah Rick Baker is the king of awesome. I loved his comments and insight featured in the bonus materials for the original Universal Monsters DVDs, which got me hooked on classic horror (and actually horror movies and filmmaking in general!). You can't beat a guy who loves what he's doing and does it so well.

I like alot of the conceptual art too. Having a job where someone Bernie Wrightson has drawn a creature & then your job is to literally bring it to life using special effects make-up must be a dream.......& Baker is top of the tree..!!!

It does look good in b/w. I much prefer b/w to colour. That is the werewolf in its almost-changed state (before much of the fur was added) which I much prefer to the fully-changed version.
