It took about half an hour before I was sure I'd seen it before. Loose remake of Silent Night, Deadly Night with Malcolm McDowell and Jaime King. Pretty sure it was on Tubi but it seems to be gone now.


The Nice Guys (2016)

Written and directed by Shane Black so it seemed like a safe bet Christmas would come up at some point. It eventually did but I was getting worried. With Ryan Gosling, Russell Crowe, and Angourie Rice. Liked this one. On Netflix.


Anna and the Apocalypse (2017)

Probably the best Christmas musical/zombie apocalypse movie I've seen. With Ella Hunt. I actually picked it up on Blu-ray after seeing it the first time.

Got in a couple of Christmas episodes of some favorite TV shows - The Six Million Dollar Man: "A Bionic Christmas Carol" (notable for Steve Austin shopping in a toy store with a Six Million Dollar Man figure visible in the background - also, there's a JAWS toy on the store counter and store clerk would go on to be in JAWS 2) and Wonder Woman: "The Deadly Toys," with Frank 'Riddler' Gorshin as the villain.


Iron Man 3 (2013)

Another Shane Black effort so of course, there was Christmas in there. I quite liked this one, tho I know some people were pretty put off by it.


Christmas Bloody Christmas (2022)

New one I rented. An animatronic Santa that started 'life' as a military robot reverts to its original programming and starts laying waste to the residents of a small town. Basically a Christmasy version of The Terminator. I thought star Riley Dandy was pretty good. Funnily enough, she's got three far more traditional Christmas movies in her IMDb credits. I guess all the schmaltz was getting to her. Decent low-budget gory fun.

I was going to watch this actually around Christmas but was surprised to realize I didn't have the Blu-ray and not at all surprised that I didn't feel like trying to hook the Laserdisc player back up. One trip to Amazon took care of the Blu-ray issue (in a cheap triple-feature pack that includes Snakes On A Plane and Deep Blue Sea) and all was well.

Fun Shane Black-written, Renny Harlin-directed tale of a peaceful mom and housewife who regains her memories of being a very skilled and deadly government agent and government agency that now considers her a liability. Starring Geena Davis and Samuel L. Jackson.


The Legend of Hell House (1973)

An investigation into the notorious "Hell House" the week before Christmas doesn't go very well. Written by the great Richard Matheson and based on his novel, HELL HOUSE. With longtime favorite Roddy McDowall.

Far, far better than Amityville Thanksgiving. I actually didn't mind watching it.

Well...there's snow in it so close enough to a 'holiday' movie for me.

Dial Code Santa (1989)

AKA Deadly Games, AKA Game Over. A psychotic Santa meets his match when he runs across precocious ten-year-old Thomas home alone on Christmas Eve. Came out about a year and a half before Home Alone and apparently the director threatened legal action against that film, accusing them of ripping him off. Understandable... Streaming on Shudder.



It's a Wonderful Knife (2023)

A year after surviving a masked slasher, everyone else seems to be going on with their lives while Winnie can't get over the events of that night. She wishes she'd never been born and ends up finding out how things would've turned out if she hadn't. Streaming on Shudder

Okay, not great but Emilia Clarke is cute and it's a 3D disc I hadn't watched yet.



Werewolf Santa (2023)

When the full moon falls on Christmas, Santa gets bit by a werewolf and cynical Lucy has to save Christmas. Cheap (five-dollar) buy from Amazon. Probably paid too much.

Specifically, they're at the camp because one is afraid she's going to become a werewolf, so there's that, too. Was going for a cheap Amazon rental until I realized it was also a cheap purchase.

Been on my list for a long time so since I finally got around to this one. In the near future, society is collapsing and a ninth-grade class is put on an island to kill each other until one is left as part of some political nonsense. Streaming on Tubi.
