best one is by far an american werewolf in london. Only one to come close is the one in the original howling movie. The melting puddle one in howling 4 is pretty good to Then ofcourse there is the skin ripping on from Company of wolves. that ones great to. And last... And also least... The one they seee on the theatre in howling 3 that one is hillarious.

American Werewolf is the obvious anwser, because it probadly is the best, so that's far from an interresting anwser I'm not sure which one is best. Since I'm a classic's fan I'll just go with both transformations in "House of Frankenstein", love 'em. I don't like skin ripping, the whole idea of a wolf being under the normal skin, and then normal skin beig under the wolf skin is weird and illogical to me. Plus, they did it in "Van Helsing" and me no like "Van Helsing"

Yes, "American Werewolf", "The Howling", "Company of Wolves" ... check, check, check. The transformations in "Werewolf of London" and "The Wolf Man" are both classic moments. And yes, "House of Frankenstein". "Monster Squad" is another good one, and of course "Thriller". The most recent transformation scenes that gave me a bit of a thrill were Romasanta and Harry Potter. Oh, and Doctor Who. "You're beautiful!" Least favourite: DARKWOLF

I think the first Ginger snaps movie has to be mentioned. As basicaly the whole movie is a tranformation scene. An its a damn good movie. To bad the actual werewolf is so ugly

To bad the actual werewolf is so ugly God it was wasn't it! How could such a pretty girl end up such a butt ugly werewolf? Her sister was no oil painting during transformation either! Best transformation - An American Werewolf in London, it's the movie that got me hooked on werewolves. Worst - Darkwolf

As for the worst, it's a toss up between darkwolf and Van Helsing....

Yeah, "Van Hesling" has to be the worst i've seen. Not that most of the early Naschy's are that good . But at least that man handles it with style.

And there is no way you can compare the transformation scene in Darkwolf to the one in Van Helsing! The werewolf in Van Helsing was a hell of a lot better, the werewolf in Darkwolf looked like it was designed on a Commadore 64!

As stated. The actual WW has nothing to do with the transformation.

True, Darkwolf is very wank, i'd been pre-warned but like most things i wanted to make my own mind up about it. Needless to say staying up until 3am to watch it was not time well spent!
